I will never be able to watch the Red Sox again without thinking of your homily...I really think you hit a home run!

Homilies that incorporate scripture with our daily lives are very meaningful...I am positive you put alot of prayer and time in preparing them...and it shows!...Thanks!

By the way...I hope there is a late September early October gospel that will lend itself to the Red Sox blowing their whole season because of some type of error...I hope it doesn't come to that but as a follower for some 50 years one can never be too sure about them...Luckily we can be certain about God.

Keep up your great work...I"m very proud of our Parish and you as our Pastor.

I like the line about "our faith may be comfor-ting but it's not always comforta-ble". I know this is a huge stumbling block for many people, the reality that Christ calls all of us to be ready to accept the crosses in our lives with patience and love. Though this is very difficult to embrace it's also very comforting to know that through the Sacriments of the Church we recieve the power to persevere through any dificuly in life always keeping the cross of Christ in front of us to remind us of his willingness to suffer and die for us so that we may have eternal life with him.

Great homily!!

I wish that we could have heard, in your homily, an invitation to all of the Easter-only Catholics to come back next week and participate in the great Plenary Indulgence for Divine Mercy Sunday.

I was a Fallen-away Catholic for 25 years until I was shown my sins.

Father Woolley,
Certainly great to read about the success of the all day of confessions.
Many thanks to your efforts and workers who have helped with this. Also all the priest goodness of spending hours there.
Kneeling before the well lighted Blessed Sacrament certainly has brought people to reflect about themselves and feel free to walk to the priest. It has for me.
Seeing a teenager sitting waiting for his turn was great. I hope many more teenagers have taken advantage also.
This I believe should be done in every city of the diocese. A move to help bring back the fallen away.

Hello Bob,

I got that info on the 400-500 yard net from a well known series of meditations on the Mass Readings called “In Conversation with God.” The priest who wrote it usually does his homework and checks what the experts say life was like in Jesus’ day. It seemed like a big net to me also, but that was the number he gave.

Hi Father;
You had my attention Father on your homily,it was interesting even though at seventy years old I have heard it a few times,so to speak.but I found your descripton of a four to five hundred yard net(five football fields)somewhat of a stretch .no pun intended.
  See you on Sunday,

Hi Father Woolley,

What a beautiful homily on forgiveness. I just read "Left to Tell" about a woman who forgave the people who literally hacked to death her family in Africa. The only way she had peace during this horrific experience was to forgive those who robbed her of everything. It certainly makes my grudges seem so petty.

My favorite scene of forgiveness is watching the footage of John Paul II forgive the man who shot him.

Thanks again for a beautiful homily. If you have to be "stuck" somewhere, Ireland is the place to be.
Peace,

Jeanne

Father,

I have pondered these connections too...and when you look at Hydrogen, the "fuel" of the Sun, and Oxygen 8p8n8e the "fuel" for our bodies, you can find some interesting details concerning God's creative work that mirrors in a dim way the uncreated and eternal being of the Triune Almighty.

Is it a coincidence that JESUS in Greek numerically = 888?

and carbon...that black stuff at 6p6n6e can be seen ina whole new light....666

Diamonds glitter too.

The eight day, EASTER... is recreation too.
